• we accept prose (short fiction + creative non-fiction): up to 1500 words (double-spaced) and poetry up to 40 lines (any formatting)

• submit up to 3 poems and/or 1 work of prose (fiction or cnf) in a single pdf file

• title the file as follows: "Title of Piece(s) - Your Name"

• we will only consider unpublished writing (personal blog/social media is fine) from McGill students

• all works must follow the values outlined in our community guidelines

• please provide content warnings where appropriate (if in doubt, include them just in case)

• to submit, please send your work to snapsjournaleditors@gmail.com. in your submissions, please confirm you are a McGill student and include a brief cover letter, a short author bio, a good email address to contact you, and how you’d like to be credited if your work is accepted for publication 

• we accept simultaneous submission, just let us know (snapsjournaleditors@gmail.com) if your piece(s) are accepted elsewhere for publication

• title your email as follows: "Genre - Titles of Piece(s) - Your Name"

• we ask for First North American Serial Rights, and you will retain all the rights to your work after it’s published in Snaps

• if you’d like your piece to be accompanied by an original image or visual, please send it! while the accompanying image won’t be published with your piece, we may use it to promote your work on our socials.
